Anna Moeller is the full-time State Representative of the 43rd District, which includes most of Elgin and portions of Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee and South Elgin. Anna is serving her first full term in the General Assembly.
From 2005 until joining the Illinois House of Representatives, Anna served as the Executive Director of the McHenry County Council of Government, where she focused on addressing regional issues and concerns while working with Democrats, Republicans and independents alike from local governments and regional organizations. Between 2011 and 2014, she served as a councilwoman for the City of Elgin. During her time on the Elgin City Council, Anna worked to cut the city's property tax levy three years in a row and opposed a proposed storm-water tax on city residents.
Anna is focused on being open and accessible to local residents and providing outstanding constituent service, listening to concerns and fighting for the issues that matter most to our families. She maintains a full-time constituent service office to make sure local residents can receive assistance in accessing the state services they need.
Anna is committed to working with all local residents, Republicans and Democrats, and business and labor groups alike to strengthen the local economy, put more middle-class families back to work and get the Elgin area back on the right track.
Anna will work to address the state's budget challenges by going through the state's spending proposals line-by-line to identify areas that can be streamlined to save tax dollars while protecting vital programs that local residents depend on from devastating cuts, like education, health care, public safety and services for seniors and veterans.
Anna has a BA in History and Master's Degree in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University.
Moeller has served on the Elgin Planning and Development Commission and the Elgin Human Relations Commission, and she was Vice-President of Imagine McHenry County, Vice-President of the Northeast Neighborhood Association of Elgin, Treasurer of the Channing Elementary School PTO and an English as a Second Language tutor for the Literacy Connection. She recently served as the Chairperson of the State Precious Metals Purchasing Task Force, which was created to craft legislation that helps protect against the theft of jewelry and other precious metals and help police recover stolen items.
Anna and her husband, Marc, a teacher, have two daughters. They attend the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elgin.
