System Biography State Representative Frank J. Mautino is serving his 10th term in the Illinois House of Representatives. The 76th District includes all or portions of Bureau, LaSalle and Putnam Counties. Throughout his legislative career, Representative Mautino has been a leader in the cause for a better education system. Mautino has authored and passed reforms to the state's education system. He has given local school boards the option to put students convicted of felonies into alternative schools, away from the students they have harmed. Mautino also supports a budget bill that will increase general state aid to local public school districts. In addition to his work on education, Mautino is working to improve our health care system. He has successfully expanded the Comprehensive Health Insurance Program to help thousands of uninsured families obtain health insurance. Thousands more who can afford, but cannot purchase health insurance due to chronic illness or disability, are also covered by this plan. Mautino was also the sponsor of the managed care patients' "Bill of Rights," known as the Illinois' Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Law. To make the 76th District a leader in wind energy production, Mautino has introduced House Bill 380 during the 95th General Assembly, which will provide for a uniform way to assess wind farms across Illinois. Mautino is committed to supporting new business and economic development throughout the local community. Mautino is a native of Spring Valley where he was born on August 7, 1962. He lives with his wife Lena, sons Pietro Joseph "Peter," James Michael and daughter Luciana Christina. With a degree in marketing and a minor in administration from Illinois State University, Frank Mautino helped improve and expand the family business as a Corporate Brand Manager for Mautino Distributing Company Inc. before succeeding his father as State Representative.
