Monique Davis serves as State Representative of the 27th District, representing parts of the Chicago neighborhoods of Chatham, Morgan Park, Roseland, Washington Heights and West Pullman, and portions of the suburban communities of Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood, Orland Park, Palos Heights and Robbins.

Representative Davis' committee assignments reflect her dedication to education and health care. She is the Chairperson of the Insurance Committee and Vice-Chairperson of the Financial Institutions Committee. She is a member of the committees on Appropriations-General Services, Appropriations-Higher Education, Elementary & Secondary Education, and State Government Administration.

Davis is a former teacher and administrator in the Chicago Public Schools. She also served as a coordinator for the Chicago Board of Education and a training specialist with the Chicago City Colleges.

Davis continues her active involvement with several community and charitable organizations. She is a member of the NAACP, Operation Push, Phi Delta Kappa, Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago Urban League and Beverly Area Planning Association.

Davis received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Chicago State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's in Guidance and Counseling. In addition, Davis has earned 42 additional graduate credit hours in Administration Supervision and Special Education from the University of Illinois, Roosevelt University, National Lewis University, and DePaul.

Davis is a lifelong resident of Chicago and a mother of two.
