John D'Amico is the state representative of the 15th District, which encompasses portions of the northwest side of Chicago, including the Edgebrook, Mayfair, and Wildwood neighborhoods, and parts of the suburban communities of Niles, Park Ridge, Glenview, Morton Grove, and Skokie.

As state representative, John's top priority is strengthening safety for Illinois' drivers and residents. John led efforts to prohibit texting while driving in Illinois. John also worked with Secretary of State Jesse White to institute a graduated driver's license program to make sure new drivers have the proper training and supervision. Most recently, John successfully passed legislation prohibiting drivers from using hand-held electronic devices, including cell phones. Drivers will now be required to operate electronic devices in a hands-free or voice operated mode.

After listening to constituents, John helped secure funding for much needed road improvements in the village of Niles through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Emergency Repair Program. The funding for the road projects not only improved conditions for commuters but also brought jobs to the community.

A lifelong resident of the northwest side, John graduated from Weber High School and attended Northeastern Illinois University. He currently resides in Chicago's Edgebrook community with his wife and their three children.

John remains active in a number of community organizations. He is a member of the Plumber's Union Local #130, City Club of Chicago, Queen of All Saints Men's Club, Mayfair Athletic Club, Mayfair Lions Club, St. Edward's Athletic Advisory Board, Edgebrook Community Organization, Edgebrook Sauganash Athletic Association, and has served as a coach for youth baseball, football, and girls' softball.

John looks forward to hearing from residents of the 15th District. He encourages anyone wishing to speak with him to call his constituent service office or stop by the office for a visit.
